New Display

A dear friend of mine allowed me to have some wall space. I am so excited to have the opportunity for my pieces to get some new life.

Edward

I took a week off but I am back at it again. This is a commissioned piece that I just completed. They loved it!!! Yes the color scheme is very similar as the last post. I thought it would create an awesome backdrop for my friend.

What the Dickens

I wanted to retain the old photo quality with this painting. This photo of Charles Dickens was really awesome. His beard was so crazy. He really needed to see a barber.

I am challenging myself to complete a portrait a week. The goal is to be quick, loose and practice, practice, practice.

Good Morning

This one has been on my easel for a long time. I have been so involved with the music thing that I have neglected my art. It's time for a little balance so here I go. I will be better at posting new art work. I'm getting excited again about painting and I needed the time to get inspired. Stay tuned!!!

New Project

Well I thought I should explain why I have not posted in a while. I have been a little busy with my other passion "Music". I have been working on a new worship project. I have spent a lot of time writing new songs and recording. This has been consuming a lot time but I am having so much fun. We have just release two singles on itunes and we will have the complete project after the first of the year. Check out the link below, download and let me know what you think.

Midnight Smile

You know you really can never have too many VW buses and I could not leave the count at two. There really needed to be three. Odd number always feels better. Which probably means I have to do two more. Hmm. Hope you like.

Dream and Receive

We just completed three nights of worship at our church. We encouraged everyone to express their worship in every creative way that our Father loves. Dancing, painting, creative writing and music. Such great fun. Our Father just loves to be with us. This is one that I did during worship. It was a different experience especially since it was very dark where I was painting. That being said it was a great experience.

Summer Ride

I have been playing around with watercolour lately. I wanted to try painting on clayboard. It was a new experience. The paint dries much faster but allows you to lift the paint easier. I think I need to experiment with the clayboard a little more but fun was had by all or at least me.

Vision Revisited "Santiago"

I wanted to revisit the "Vision" piece using watercolour. I was excited to see how he would translate in color and wanted experiment a little. Hope you like the results.

"Vision"

I love drawing people with character. This is another sketch in line with my other older men. He is missing his left eye and I am reminded of the One who makes men see.

"Desire"

This is a series of "Word Art" that I have worked on using various watercolor washes and techniques. I love this one due to the scripture, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick but desire fulfilled is a tree of life." I think we have all experienced hopes, dreams and even promises from God that seem to push further into the future and the pain "sickness of heart." I think we fail to understand that the Father wants us to experience "The Tree of Life" He is our desire, He is "The Tree Of Life" and He truly desires for us to experience the fullness of His heart for us and His purposes for our lives. He has also put dreams and desires in our hearts as a deposit of His promises. Let the Dreamers dream and live life with passion and desire.
This piece will be sold in a Charity Art Show for a friend who is raising money to be able to go to China to pick up their new adopted little girl.

"Believing Is Seeing"

Real faith will see what other can't even dream and what we believe will set the boundaries of our experiences. Sometimes we need to update our picture of God because the one we have grown accustom to is way too small.

"Overcoming Joy"

It's been a while since I've posted. I have been busy with ministry, teaching art and recording music. All these are fun but it's time to work on my art. This is a sketch I finished recently. I love the joy on his face despite the obvious worn and toothless features. Joy in the mist of the struggle.
